I photographed beautiful baby Isla today (pronounced I-lah), just five days old and itty bitty at six pounds. She came in for her newborn session with her big brother, but it’s her close ups that I have fallen in love with tonight as I am working on editing her gallery. I don’t usually post about my gear, but I really love shooting with my 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens for these shots, it’s one of those lenses that is never far during my sessions both outdoors and when working with my newborn clients because it is just so beautiful as a portrait lens as well as a macro. Isla gave me lots of beautiful shots to work with today, can’t wait to get her gallery sent off to her mama just in time for the Holidays. Reminder if you are looking for a newborn photographer to capture the precious first days with your new bundle, remember to book while you are still pregnant to ensure availability. Newborns are best photographed between days 5 – 12 when they are easiest to work with.
