Sanibel Island Family Photographers
I usually make it to Sanibel every couple of months, one thing that differs compared to the Naples beaches is all the beautiful sea grass that grows near their walkways to the water. There is a beautiful array of scenery on the beach that provides us with so much gorgeous variety. This family returns to Sanibel now after going over the summers years ago, that is one of those things about traditions that make photos so special. It’s not just another summer vacation, it’s a place full of memories for everyone. I’m so glad I get to be a part of documenting that love for a place like this.
If you are traveling to Sanibel or Captiva this year, just know that they are very different, but equally beautiful! The beaches on Captiva are much more isolated, in fact, unless you are staying on the beach or have private access we won’t be able to just park and walk. There are some beautiful private homes and boutique resorts on Captiva that have great access, Tween Waters Inn being one of them and South Seas being another. You can’t wrong either way.
Sanibel has more public beach access points, and there are plenty of lots that allow visitors to park and walk down to enjoy the night. Check out the visitors map when you arrive and you can see where all you can park. Of course, I have my favorite spots for family beach sessions on Sanibel. My absolute favorite thing, however to do when I drive over for a beach shoot is to stop at Bailey’s General Store and pickup donuts for my kids. Some of the best in SWFL!
If you will be here this holiday season and are looking for a family photographer, please contact me early to ensure your spot is booked. Because of the distance, I only take a limited number of shoots on the islands each week.
